Getting to know the creator of Olivolea, Belén Castro
I was born in Granada in 1972, into a family where my father and grandfather taught me the values that today underpin my business vision.
All my training, from my degree in Pharmacy to successive specializations in Dermopharmacy and Nutrition, is connected from different perspectives to the development of work lines that culminate today in the Olivolea project.
Working for four years as the technical director of the Granada Health Sciences Technology Park Foundation, collaborating with the Tomás Pascual Sanz Foundation, the Spanish Heart Foundation, the "José Mataix Verdú" Nutrition Institute, and many others helped me gather the experience needed to start Olivolea.
The birth of my daughter Marta was the decisive moment that led me to develop products I created myself, which, in addition to being natural, were suitable for my skin and my baby’s skin.
Passionate about my work but also about cooking—I often recall the first recipe book my mother gave me when I was seven—it is likely that my inspiration and enthusiasm for cooking are part of me that has always driven me to explore new ideas and concepts. The desire to collect memories of everything I try brings me back to the origins and authenticity of the aromas and flavors that marked my childhood, like olive oil.
In this new stage of Olivolea, I present my blog, whose content I will work on professionally and, I hope, in an engaging way, where I will share my knowledge and passions. My curiosity drives me to share what I know and what I learn every day. I want to involve you in what Olivolea means, and I am sure your comments will enrich the blog. I would love for those who read me to feel like they know me a little better.
