My Healthy Habits
This is how my daily routine unfolds: waking up early, exercising, hydrating my skin a lot, and having a healthy meal, which I prepare at home and want to share today on the blog.
My day starts at 6:15 in the morning. I’ve always been an early riser, and even during pregnancy, I kept my morning habits.
At 7:00, my exercise session begins. Some days I go for a run from home, and other days I do an intense hour of strength training. I’ve been working with isometric exercises combined with yoga poses for a year, and I’m loving it. They help me concentrate, and I’ve learned to breathe and understand my body better.
Then, a quick shower and, most importantly, hydrating my skin to the maximum and caring for its firmness. During my pregnancy, I was very careful with hydrating my skin, doing an active massage every day with my firming and anti-stretch mark cream all over my body. Afterward, I kept this habit, and although I now use a variety of products, I’m very consistent in caring for my skin daily.
I believe that having clean skin is just as important as hydrated skin. That’s why I do a body scrub every two or three weeks. For this, I use a gentle massage oil made of calendula and chamomile mixed with a little cane sugar and a bit of sea salt. This way, the skin is much easier to hydrate, leaving it glowing and with fantastic juiciness.
At 8:30 am, I have a complete breakfast rich in vitamins and minerals. I get this with a good glass of fresh orange juice, a bowl of seasonal fruit, always accompanied by cereals like bread and a little marinated salmon or some ham. The best part of each day is sharing this breakfast with my family and enjoying seeing my daughter Marta sitting next to me, choosing the bread or a piece of cake from the homemade olive oil cake recipe that’s been in my family since I was little.
Before leaving the house, I plan my day’s agenda in a way that allows me to make progress while my daughter is at school, making sure I have the flexibility to rearrange if an unexpected event or a meeting runs longer than usual.
Cooking has been my passion since I was a child, so cooking is not only a way to share but also something that relaxes and entertains me at the same time. And I cook daily! At lunchtime, we always tend to have a light meal at home. One of the things we enjoy the most is tuna tartare, a dish that works as both a weekday meal and a chic appetizer. It takes just five minutes to prepare! Cut by hand, similar to steak tartare, with a bold touch of wasabi and red chili oil that I make myself.
I try to dedicate the end of the day to my daughter Marta. We enjoy reading a story together in bed or chatting a bit about our plans for the weekend. My dinner proposal is perfect – something light yet intense at the same time… fresh, tender buffalo mozzarella drizzled with the aromas of extra virgin Picual olive oil, basil leaves, and a bit of slightly spicy, fresh, and crunchy arugula. I also love the elegance it has both visually and on the palate. To accompany it, simply some good sourdough bread or bread with black olives, and a few pieces of the best tomatoes of the season...
