How to Get in Shape Without Stress After Summer
September is the month of promises for the upcoming summer, a month full of new goals: joining a gym, eating better; in short, we set goals that often seem to never come to fruition.
Consistency is the key to successfully achieving our objectives. You just need to keep a firm will for a few weeks, and once you start seeing results, you won’t want to stop! Starting with a strict training routine is useless if we end up quitting in the end.
Back to routine. Post-vacation stress is one of our enemies when returning to work. We need to stick to a schedule as soon as possible so that our bodies don't suffer from disruptions and can respond well to daily life. A good routine is essential for both performance and rest. Sometimes, we accumulate sleep hours, wrongly believing we can catch up on them over the weekend.
Adopting healthy eating habits. It’s important to set up your daily meals, with more substantial and energizing dishes in the morning, and lighter meals for dinner. Prioritize natural, fresh, and seasonal foods, and your health will significantly improve. A diet rich in a variety of fruits and vegetables, quality protein sources, healthy fats, and whole grains should be the foundation of your diet. Forget about added sugars and processed foods.
Stay hydrated. Drinking two liters of water daily will help cleanse your body. If you add green tea, it will help control your insulin levels and burn fat.
Physical exercise. High-intensity interval training is the most effective for keeping your metabolism activated throughout the day. Cardiovascular exercises are a good complement but depend more on oxygenation than physical strength. Swimming, cycling, or running help burn calories easily, improve sleep, and reduce stress. To achieve a firmer body, you can also incorporate toning and resistance exercises into your routine. With a simple workout that can be done at home or in the gym, you can shape your body with squats, push-ups, and abdominal exercises.
Motivation. Although it takes some effort at first, exercising will make you feel so good about yourself that you won’t want to stop. The benefits for your health—strengthening muscles and improving circulation—will also be reflected in your physical appearance. Exercising shouldn’t be synonymous with boredom or torture; you should choose an activity that fits you. The most important thing is to enjoy it!
