Keratolytic. Therapeutic agent with properties to dissolve excess keratin and reduce the thickness of the stratum corneum of the skin. Usually composed of a combination of salicylic acid and lactic acid, keratolytics are used to treat different dermatological disorders, such as benign skin excretions, skin peelings or warts.
